RESEARCH EXPEDITION SUPPORT WITH

APPLIED TECHNOLOGY

ROBOTICS

We enhance data gathering by supplying custom-built robots. Some of the unique benefits of bespoke technology can include repetitive task autonomy and the ability to explore, scan and excavate hard-to-reach spaces.

FILM

Research findings need context. We provide filmmaking support - in the form of technical advice, training and on site documentary-style coverage - to help build narratives and engage audiences.

VR / AR

We use the latest scanning and LIDAR technology to map anything from small cavities and minor inscriptions to aerials of entire landscapes. Once built into a 3D model, research can continue after leaving the site.

ABOUT

Cotton Globe is a network of experienced, highly skilled volunteers, each with a specialist skill set, a unique book  of contacts and access to state of the art equipment.

These resources are made available to academic research projects with either archaeological, conservation or historical significance. Applied technology can be a huge aid to data gathering during expeditions and, beyond that, filmmaking support can help to illustrate results and maximise audience reach. Submitted projects are chosen based on their potential to further humanity's understanding of history, protect local cultures and enhance conservation of the natural world.
